Four Wings Wellness

Rebranding Project

Getting Started:

Working with this client was such a fun experience; she has such a warm, colorful energy, and I wanted to capture that in her rebrand as she relocated her business and refreshed her services. During our conversations, we focused on the importance of the dragonfly, a key symbol in both the name and the heart of the brand. The dragonfly represents change, transformation, adaptability, and clarity; values that perfectly align with what Four Wings Wellness offers through its healing, cleansing, and restorative services. As for the typography...Papyrus had to go (sorry Papyrus fans).

Brainstorming & Research:

Because many of Four Wings Wellness's services are rooted in Tibetan Buddhism and Eastern holistic healing practices, I wanted to incorporate symbolic elements like the "seed of life" and the unalome into the brand imagery, particularly within the main logo. Several of my early concepts focused on the unalome, a symbol that represents the journey to enlightenment. I also explored more abstract directions that were a bit unexpected but helped differentiate Four Wings Wellness from other holistic wellness brands in the area.

Design Execution:

There were so many possible directions for this rebrand, and looking back, I wish I had spent a little more time in the brainstorming phase to better narrow down which concepts to fully explore. I created a lot of digital variations (maybe too many), but there are several unused concepts I'm still really proud of and plan to revisit for future projects. While my client loved the idea of incorporating the unalome, it didn't translate as well visually as we had hoped. After another collaborative meeting, we decided to return to the brand's roots and refine the direction from there.

Feedback & Refinement:

This step was crucial for the rebrand because both my client and I had gotten a bit stuck on the direction of the visuals. Going back to the drawing board allowed us to refocus on what was working, what wasn't, and what the client truly wanted. I decided to keep the artwork from the original logo, simplifying and cleaning it up while honoring its sentimental value. The dragonfly illustration, designed by a friend of the client, had become an integral part of the brand, so we made it the centerpiece. Once that decision was made, the rest of the assets and brand elements came together smoothly. Even though the unalome concept was set aside, I was able to incorporate the "seed of life" as a pattern and background element across print materials, keeping a symbolic connection to the brand's roots.

Final Deliverables:

This rebrand was such a fun project because my client wanted the full package, from the logos and custom illustrations for each service to business cards, print materials, and mockups. I loved getting to work on every aspect, focusing on creating a cohesive look while making sure information was clear and easy to understand, since educating clients on their health and wellbeing is a key part of Four Wings Wellness’s mission. Early on, we decided on jewel tones, which reference Tibetan influences and help the brand stand out from other holistic wellness businesses in the area. I’m glad I revisited the original artwork, keeping it as the foundation while giving the brand a fresh look and feel. Overall, this project was incredibly fulfilling and reminded me of the importance of each step in the design process.
